Planning has finally come to fruition as Village On The Isle started demolition (yesterday) on campus where seven Independent Living cottages will be built. The actual plan for the cottages was launched in November of 2010. Earlier this year in March, Village On The Isle received approvals from the Planning Commission and went before the City Council. With all permits in hand Village moved forward and here we are in the beginning stages of this happily awaited project.
Village On The Isle hopes for the first cottage to be “move-in” ready in spring of 2013, but nothing is absolute as of yet. A second building has to be moved and it will be Labor Day before this demolition begins. There is strong interest in 5 of the 7 total units already. The cottages will have the same membership agreements that customers have in both Matthew and Trinity Hall.
The board of trustees at Village On The Isle recognizes the importance of continually up-grading our services to meet the needs of our existing residents and the continually changing demands of future residents. Tom Kelly, CEO at Village On The Isle commented “We are very pleased and proud to be able to bring this new service to the citizens of Venice.”
