General

A Life Plan Community (LPC)—also referred to as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)—offers a convenient, satisfying place to call home, with a variety of floor plan options and neighborhoods to choose from. Services and amenities come with a full continuum of on-site health care to bring you real peace of mind. Health care includes priority access to health and wellness services, assisted living, memory care support, post-acute and long-term care. You live in a residential apartment home or cottage where you can participate in a variety of community activities with others who share similar values, interests and outlook. When you move to your new home at Village On The Isle, you are free from the stress of maintenance, housekeeping, and daily meal preparation. Plus, you never have to worry about an abrupt change in your lifestyle if you should need health care support. Coordinating your care needs and preferences will be readily available for you.
Life Care is a financial arrangement for how you receive and pay for comprehensive healthcare services. With Life Care, you pay an initial entrance fee and a predictable monthly fee. You will appreciate the savings in the long run, since your monthly fee remains the same across our full continuum that leads to substantially discounted market rates for your future health care. In a community without Life Care, you will pay a higher cost of care for assisted living, memory care support, and nursing care at the time you need it that can drain your precious life savings. Our residents have been savvy planners all their life and prefer no surprises, so come learn more about how you can save thousands of dollars and receive quality care that brings peace of mind to you and your family.
Our recommendation is to come and meet with us to review your long-term care insurance coverage. Village On The Isle offers multiple contracts, and our trained retirement counselors can assist you in evaluating which option best aligns with your policy to give you the best financial protection for your care needs.

The reality is, living at Village On The Isle is like living anywhere. The difference is, you will gain a new maintenance-free lifestyle, new friends, convenient and engaging opportunities, and the freedom you’re accustomed to, but with extra comfort, ease, and safety. Life at Village On The Isle will provide you daily enjoyment of chef-prepared meals, a wide range of ongoing social, recreational and spiritual activities and events, routine housekeeping services, scheduled transportation and outings, routine and emergency maintenance services, around-the-clock security with an urgent response system, and much more.

The primary difference between a Life Plan Community like Village On The Isle and rental communities is that rental communities typically do not include a full continuum of care, such as Skilled Nursing care. Also, if a resident develops the need for these services, they may not have priority access to this care, and they will be responsible for paying the full market rate. Also, since these additional services like skilled care are not available on-site, those requiring care may need to move away from the community at their greatest time of need.
Village On The Isle is located on the beautiful Island of Venice, less than half a mile from the Gulf. You will have easy access to downtown shopping, restaurants, arts and cultural events, hospitals and other conveniences you would expect and appreciate.
When you choose Residential Living at Village On The Isle, you furnish your apartment home or cottage as you like. We provide all essential kitchen appliances, granite or quartz countertops, washer and dryer, wall-to-wall flooring options, tile in your bathroom and kitchen, and window treatments. Before you move, you will visit our design center and choose from an array of selections based on your preferences
Absolutely. There is convenient parking on site for you and your guests. Covered parking is available for residents at an additional monthly charge.
Travel as often and as long as you like—your home and possessions will remain well-attended. Your residence will be regularly checked by our security and housekeeping staff as requested.
You and your apartment will be protected by our 24-hour urgent response system, as well as by security personnel that monitor the campus around the clock. We also provide well-lighted parking and pedestrian areas, and have introduced the latest technology for access control to your residence and neighborhood’s main entrance.
Yes, you can. Our seasonal menu items are made-to-order. Our culinary program directors partner with a committee of residents to plan a variety of options for you to enjoy that fulfill your dietary preferences. A nutritionist is also available to meet with you to develop a plan tailored to your specific health and wellness needs.
Just like in your current house or condo, your guests—children, grandchildren, friends and relatives—are always welcome. They can enjoy meals with you in the dining room for a minimal charge. Should you need extra space for overnight visitors, guest suites are available.
Yes, Village On The Isle is entirely tobacco-free. This policy applies to all community spaces, grounds, and residences, and all residents, staff members, guests and visitors.
Yes. Pets are allowed and welcome based upon registration requirements and policies of the community. Pet acceptance depends on the neighborhood you choose.

Health Care

Our Health Center offers comprehensive 24/365 nursing care, plus rehabilitation services comprised of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. We offer restorative programs to help residents regain lost balance or improve other mobility issues. Our objective is to help you achieve your maximum independence. Also, as a resident member of Village On The Isle, you will always receive priority access to our full continuum of health care services located conveniently on our campus.
Yes. Our entire healthcare continuum provides private accommodations. No matter what, if you need health support, you will reside in well-appointed private accommodations in assisted living, memory care, and our health center for greater privacy and dignity. Also, couples are permitted to reside together according to approved policies of Village On The Isle.
Yes. Our Health Center assigns an attending physician who is on call 24 hours a day. For Residential Living residents, we offer transportation services (if needed), so you may continue to see your preferred physician. We also offer resources for house-call physician services for primary care support in the comfort of your home.
Every residence is equipped with an urgent response system designed to alert staff 24 hours a day. In the event of an emergency, residents are always encouraged to call “911” first as staff will respond promptly to provide support until the paramedics arrive.

Priority Access to our Health Care

  • We offer several contract options; Fee-For-Service, including a refundable option, Modified Life Care and Life Care—that allow you to choose how to pay for health care. These contracts provide you priority access to our quality, first-class health care services.

    Our Fee-For-Service contract option offers you priority access to our full continuum with a 10% discount from the monthly rate in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Additionally, any permanent care in our Health Center will also receive a 10% discount from the daily published rate.

    Our Modified Life Care contract option offers you an unlimited assisted living and memory care support benefit at the same monthly fee you pay in your residential apartment home or cottage, plus you receive thirty-(30) free days per year in our Health Center if you should need around-the-clock care temporarily. If you should require long-term, permanent care in our Health Center, you will have priority admission at the published daily rate for care.

    Our Life Care contract option allows you to receive priority access to our entire health care continuum, with a comprehensive health benefit that includes unlimited assisted living, memory care support, and nursing care in our Health Center—all at the same monthly fee you pay in your residential home. Life Care is the ultimate way to achieve asset protection and a greater sense of security about the future for you and your family.

The Monthly Service Fee at Village On The Isle may change annually. The average increase over the past ten years has averaged approximately 3%.  Also, in efforts to collaborate with residents about any future changes, we conduct quarterly meetings with residents to share our financial performance. The CEO also meets regularly with the Residents’ Council about any proposed budget adjustments.

All of our wellness programs are directed with the goal of accepting, acknowledging, and learning to express our true feelings, which is the key to peace of mind and improved health. In collaboration, we offer the following types of health & wellness support for residents:

  • Health and Wellness Programs designed to improve quality of life and promote emotional health
  • Wellness checks and assistance coordinating with your medical providers
  • Assistance organizing medication planners
  • Individual and group Fitness Programs to promote physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing
  • Planned social activities, lifelong learning presentations and volunteer opportunities
  • Care coordination to assist you in planning your care needs, including elective treatment that may require short-term inpatient or outpatient services

We are here to help meet your personal needs and requests. In addition to our standard services including in your monthly fee, we also can offer or arrange additional services at an extra charge. Some include:

Financial

An entrance fee is a one-time payment based on the size of the apartment home or cottage you select. As a Resident at Village On The Isle, your entrance fee is amortized over a specific period and may be refunded to you or your estate if the contract terminates early. Payment of this sum, along with a predictable monthly service fee, entitles you to a lifetime residency at Village On The Isle.

The entrance fee enables you the opportunity to convey your future healthcare obligations at a discounted rate and preserve your financial assets to your estate as desired in the future.

Yes, according to current IRS guidelines, you would benefit from a one-time deduction of a portion of your Entrance Fee paid, as well as an annual deduction for a portion of your Monthly Service Fee. Each year, we work with a third-party accounting firm to calculate the percentage of monthly fees that can be deducted and send you a notice to share with your tax preparer.
Our financial policy allows us to offer a formal financial assistance program, should you deplete the funds necessary to continue living at Village On The Isle through no fault of your own. Certain conditions apply, but this is a great relief to our residents and is part of our not-for-profit mission.
