What Is Life Care?

Life Care is a unique offering by Life Plan Communities, also known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). It’s a contract option offered by these types of communities that allows you to plan for future health care needs. It assures that if you should ever need health services, such as Assisted Living, Memory Care Support, and/or Skilled Nursing throughout your lifetime, you will not only have these services with private accommodations and quality care, but rather than have a dramatic increase, you will receive the care you need at the same monthly fee you would pay if you were still in Independent Living.

Life Care goes beyond residential living and offers priority access to 5-star health care when you need it at a predictable price. It ensures you can protect your assets and have financial security. With Life Care at Village On The Isle, you can enjoy knowing that all of the “what-ifs” of your future care needs are covered. That’s peace of mind and an essential consideration for your estate planning.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the difference between Life Plan Communities and traditional retirement communities?
Life Plan Communities include all levels of care and various contract options to ensure you will have the care you need throughout retirement, at predictable costs, without ever having to move to a new community. Typical retirement communities do not offer health care, so should your health needs change, you must leave the retirement community you’re familiar with and the staff you’ve grown to consider an extended family and move to a facility that offers the level of care you need. The monthly fees in these facilities are significantly higher than typical retirement community and Independent Living fees. Moving to a new facility can often be very unsettling for many seniors, as they leave the support network they’ve grown to depend on.
What is the difference between a Life Plan Community and Life Care?
A Life Plan Community describes a community that offers all levels of living in one community. They offer various contract options (with different refund levels and healthcare coverage options) and typically charge an Entrance Fee and a Monthly Fee that aligns with the contract options chosen. Life Care is a contract option offered by Village On The Isle and is the most comprehensive, most predictable contract option.
How does priority placement benefit residents?
Priority placement means you’ll always have first access to higher care levels within the same community, skipping waitlists and potential disruptions.
Are there financial or physical requirements for entering a Life Plan Community?
Yes. All interested prospects undergo a financial and medical review to determine their eligibility for independent living.
